Zenec was born from both lived experience and firm determination.
After many years working across the disability, mental health, community services, and family support sectors, our Founder and Managing Director, Chinenye Ohakwe, witnessed a troubling pattern repeat itself. Too often, organisational priorities centred on financial outcomes rather than participant wellbeing. Support workers were expected to deliver exceptional care while receiving little support in return — many funded their own professional development out of pocket. Complaints went unheard, communication was poor, and participants were too often treated as a number in the system rather than a person with a story.
Chinenye knew the NDIS could — and should — be better.
She founded Zenec to build an organisation where people receive personalised, respectful, and consistent support from professionals who genuinely care.
